PSPgo; a treachorous road of Seclusion and Alienation

Well, this will be my first blogpost, but i thought i would start with something i was pondering just recently, sure everyone is praising Sony for going down a new route with their recently released PSPgo, but is innovation always the path to success?

the original PSP has sold over 10 Million units since its launch in 2005, a number which is modest to say the least but sony were still quite humble, when rumours unearthed that there would be a new PSP without the UMD drive alot of people were sceptical right up until it being announced at E3 2009, the PSPGo, the Download only PSP with an internal HDD for the storage of full PSP games from day one.

In theory this should have opened up a bright new pasture on its handheld market share, but all it did was alienate people from a wealth of good, cheap games and instead forced them into downloading Old PSP games at full RRP with crazy download times.

Sony did alot of things wrong with the PSPGo marketing-wize, like the marketing campaign... Exactly, there wasnt one, and the price was knee-weakening for something that you couldnt go into a store and buy games for, from Sony's side, its a retail suicide.

If you read this, your thoughts please.

Also just for refference, i have a PSP and a PSPGo.
